Step 7 - Review and Plan

Congratulations! You're done! Well... Not completely done... Though by this point, you should be finished all of the preliminaries, you still have some work to do. The focus of your work should now shift away from the short term and into the future.

Start using all of the tools at your disposal to determine the future growth of your site. Taking the time to plan things out now is important because your site now has a strong solid base to build upon.

Look around to see what areas of your site are underdeveloped, see if there are any noticeable gaps in your site's content. Are the sections that bring a good ROI well developed? What do you expect your website to look like one year from now? Two years from now? Five years from now? The further into the future you look, your plans will get more vague, but that's ok. Even vague plans will help you out in the long run.

Proper planning will help direct your future growth in a targeted manner. Though any growth can be good growth, you have limited resources so you want to make sure your time and effort is best spent.

Those are the seven steps to improving an existing site. You may focus more effort on one or completely skip another. These are meant as a guide to help you transition into your new situation, use them as necessary.
